Hi all please review my new website www.rompad.com

Please criticise as much as possible as I haven’t done this before so any ideas for improvements would be greatly appreciated.
especially concerning: Coding, Load times, Features, Fonts etc.

Cheers Wes.

I personally think the layout is good but it's hard to really give suggestions on this without more content you should input some information for everyone to actually see what's going on.

Since you asked for advice on coding, you might want to consider a CSS/div based layout. If you use CSS you'll find that the search engines get to your content faster and the pages load faster and use less bandwidth.

Well for a start the links on the left hand side are throwing up errors? The layout is good, but not sure on the banner. Loose the drop shadow, keep it simple. Maybe add a rollover color to the links on the left, dark grey or something. Other than that is good. Keep going and fix the errors.

I echo Andy here and I like that your site is very unique in the service that it provides. We've all seen job search sites but none that (I've seen) cater specifically to one off-the-beaten-path industry.

A little more CSS and you should be good to go. With job sites the content usually takes care of itself, so all I can really pick at is the cosmetic design but this is more of a functional site than anything, so graphics should take a backseat to content.

Good job.

Your layout is good but pick a different colour scheme. This yellowish-greenish white grey doesn’t look very appealing.

Also, before you apply the effect to the top picture, you really should blend it’s little parts together seamlessly. It looks good on first site but if you look more closely you can see it is made out of 6 same-sized images.

Well done, anyway.

I like the fact that you are keeping the design simple. However, maybe in this case a little too simple. I personally feel more color would be nice. Use a rollover color for the links, or make the links a different color other than grey.

Also adding a home link so a person could go right back to the main page would be nice cause clicking the back arrow is annoying and can be a bit confusing.

On your home page an introduction explaining the theme/purpose of the site is for those who might not immediately understand. The home page creates the first impression so tell people why they should list or look for a job on your site.

I like the fact that the contact page is simple, but maybe you might want to consider actually showing your email address and phone # if possible so people have another way to reach you and get info if they want.

I checked your links and they all seem to work fine. I looked at resume page and it states each resume costs $40 GST included, explain what GST and what the purpose of resume page is. Is $40 for listing a resume? I was just wondering cause you have several catorgies and experience levels. A little explanation for that page might make it less confusing.

I hope this helps you some, if not oh well I tried Smiling

I think there is a bit too much yellow going on, I don't think you need to alternate yellow in the list of jobs, its hard to read.
