Just registered domain but what next?
Okay. I just registered my domain today. jlisite.com. I am using Valueweb hosting. I have multiple pages on my site and cannot get them to come up! say my home directory is /valueweb, I tried linking my graphics page to URL jlisite.com/valueweb/graphicspage.html, but I get a message that the page cannot be displayed! It's apparantly going to take my hosting company 2-5 days to reply back to my email but I don't want to wait around and have my site in limbo........What am I doing wrong.....Oh, I'm using WS_FTP tp upload my site pages to my directory. UGH! I am so confused having come from a simple to use hosting service like Tripod's Housekeeper!

Did you register the name of did your host do it for you?
If you registered the name then probably you have to go into the DNS control facility (panel probably) and set the DNS info to your host's server. They'll give you the info.
If your host registered the name for you, probably when you signed up, they should have set the DNS and any other things properly. Occationally there is a problem but it's rare. More likely it's just taking time to propagate throughout the net. Give it 24-48 hours before complaining.
When the name is setup you just access the site by the main domain name jliste.com. The /valueweb looks like the Unix (I'm assuming a Unix host) root directory name for your shared account. Most of the time you use the domain name instead of the root name. So IOW use jliste.com/graphicspage.html.

I agree, you have to give it time for the host to match the space with the name. 24 hours should do it but it'll depend on how quickly they work.
BTW your post is really hard to read with the text being that small!!
