I need to create an animated gif that is only 8k in size. Does anyone know of any good optimization programs?

I actually know of a couple...depends on whether you want shareware or you want to pay for it...then again there are always the free trials..hehe.

[red]Gif Movie Gear[/red]

&

[red]Ulead Gif Animator[/red]

I actually prefer Gif Movie Gear because it shows everyframe and the trasparent pixels in every frame, gives a size report, and allows you to move around, copy, and paste frames.

Hope this helps

Hi, it should be:
<IMG SRC="solb.gif"> (you had two pairs of quotes after SRC= ). Also, make sure solb.gif is uploaded to the server and it is in binary mode. If you do that, it should work correctly.

also make sure the images are in the same directory as the html file, if not change path to "directoryname/imgname.gif"

Hey,
Well, I'm sorry to say, but it didn't work. I don't know what the f***[red](edited- please refrain from swearing on this board as there may be minors present)[/red] is going on, but it is pissing me off! I've tried everything I know to get the images to show! But, no. Do they have to be a certain filename or something, or in a certain directory? Well, If any of yallz have something to suggest, PLEASE DO!
Thanx,
LB

Hmm... they should either be in gif or jpeg format... also they should be uploaded in binary mode as I said earlier, and make sure that the image is in the same directory as the page when you use that image tag I described, which is <img src="image.gif">. If the image is in a different directory, you will need to change it a little. Also, make sure there isn't a problem with the image itself by viewing it locally on your computer. Finally, please post the URL that you are having this problem on.

hey yall,
Sup- So you could see the images huh? Did you click on the history link? Yea, I just got back from school and i went to my personal FTP site, and I deleted all the .htmls and images, and re-uploaded them. Then I checked it out, and it magically worked! I don't know why it didn't do that before.. but I'll try to see why. So you like it? That page? I'm making it for my parents Band, There band name is "Strange Brew". So now that this problem is out of the way, I'm still trying to work on adding sounds to my page. (like right when you go on a *.wav-or-*.midi will play)
Well If u have anything for comments on that please tell me!

Thanx AGAIN,
LB

ImageReady makes cool animated .gifs from .psd files created in photoshop and compresses them well.
