Administration tools

I use mySQL and Perl to run my website. When it comes to maintaining the database, I'm currently either typing commands at the command line (via telnet) or writing custom Perl scripts to do the job.

How else are people maintaining their db's? I feel like I'm reinventing the wheel half of the time.

I've seen some administration tools at mysql.com. Does anyone use these? FutureSQL looks interesting.

Any input is appreciated.

If you have PHP available, PHPMyAdmin is an excellent browser-based database administration tool.
