ASP Developers Nightmare

I am a total newbie to Perl.

I have to create a form to sign up to a service, that I am offering on my site but the service is managed by a seperate company who use unix and i have to call category lists etc from what they call the remote control client and bring back data "line by line"

Basically this is done by Http requests, I can send data to the server but I 'm having problems getting it back at all, and don't even know what this line by line method is.

I then have to convert it into ASP but that is a whole other kettle of fish and at least I understand ASP!

Could anyone give me a point in the right direction?
