updatable java content links

What I am after is a java link that will appear on your page and is updatable that will link to the page of content related. The same as what the content providers offer when you put for example a news link on your site. You paste the java code and it displays different headlines daily from the content provider. I would like to know if anyone knows how to do this and what script I would use.
