Hi!

I've just stumbled across an interesting service: [MOD edit] If you have a website, you can create a button for it that automaticly translates your page into any language chosen by your visitor... using the google-translation-technology.

What do you think of this service? Is it something you would use? Or is automatic translation still too horrible to be really useful?

I myself would say, that it is at least good enough for foreigners to understand the basic information on your website...

So, would I be right in thinking this will be the only post you make to this forum?
I feel already I am talking with myself.. Or perhaps talking with a spambot's ghost?

Or am I wrong and you find this website you "happened to stumble upon" is so great you want to post about it in other forums too. Even though you don't own it and are not affiliated with it, you feel the need to tell the world about it?

And the words you chose defined this amazing service so well you simply copied and posted the same post and subject in all the other forums, also where you only have a total of ONE forum post?

Hmm, you joined there on 17th March too. Seriously, you must really LOVE this product to join forums and post all about this wonderful service with your very first (and only) post...

[/sarcasm]

I've removed all links and references to the website you are spamming posting about until you come back and respond to this message.

Regards (and apologies if I misjudged)
Greg

automatic translation sucks

Google provides web page translation as a usability tool, so someone who does not speak the language can basically understand it. It's not supposed to be perfect, or even approach an acceptable level vs human translation.

For example, consider this passage:

Dynamic database-driven sites hit embellish rattling popular, and relatively cushy to ordered up and administer, finished the ingest of Content Management Systems (CMS) and PHP server-side scripting. It’s also doable to create a fancy-looking place with lowercase actualised content, or automatically generated cipher that crapper alteration your SEO, much as binary URLs that pass aforementioned content.

a few years ago I (ghost)wrote an article about PHP and SEO that has been very widely syndicated.

This passage is from a site that translated it into Thai and back again to English.

Interesting, but not really useful.

At the minimum, you need to hire a human who is capable of editing the auto-translation.

Remember:

It’s also doable to create a fancy-looking place with lowercase actualised content...

That would be great.. Your site can go along way because lots of people will be going to understand about your sites content.
