Content Management Help (Sports Site)
Hi, i'm looking for some suggestions on content management.
I am currently using a news script, which looks a little blog like:
http://www.f1times.co.uk - the site.
It works well, and is nice and clear, however we want a more professional look, with the main story running with a larger image, bolder so it stands out.
Are there any CMS you can recommend which are fairly affordable, easy to implement, which allow you to add news stories quickly, give more preference to some stories and include a list of recent news stories, which simply displays the titles from the latest posts?

P.S. any other suggestions on how the site can be improved would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, welcome to the forums!
Which way to go really depends on what else you have in mind for the site. Do you want to keep it as a simple news site? Or do you want to add more features and functionality in the future?
For simple needs Wordpress might be a good choice. THere is tons of information available about how to customize it for your needs. I've seen lots of sites do something similar to what you're describing using Wordpress.
For more complexity down the road, a more comprehensive CMS like Drupal would be a good choice. There you have tons of options for more functionality and can pick and choose the features that suit your site. There is also lots of information and free themes available, although it can be more difficult to sort through it all and figure out how to do what you want.
The ability to give some stories more preference than others is built-in to Drupal (either by making a post "sticky at top of lists" or "promoted to the front page")... You can then use a module called "views" to display that information any way you choose. I'm not sure how you would do this with Wordpress.

Wordpress has a "sticky" option sounding similar to how you described the Drupal one.
Stickied posts go to the front page.
