Hi,

I've been asked to put sound and video onto a web site.

Just a few questions.

1. What is the best way of recording from a CD (copyrighted to my customer)
into an MP3 format ?
2. Can anyone recommend a good AVI to MPEG converter ?
3.When I play a CD on my system is sounds fine. If I play a WAV it sounds
jerky as if it's skipping any ideas ?
4. I'm a bit confused as to all the setting for audio and video. What would
you say are the most suitable for web site.
By this I mean frames per second, 8,16,32 bit sound etc.

Appreciate any help.

To create an MP3 from a CD I have used freeware/shareware programs from download.com. The ripper I use is called CdCopy and the encoder is called BladeEnc.

For ripping cds I have found "AudioGrabber" to be the easiest for it has Blade encoder included with it. It will rip and covert to MP3 in one process, and delete the wav when it is done.

As for the MPEG encoder I recommend Xing MPEG Encoder 8]

I am not sure about settings for webquality, I would play around with it and determine which you are most worried about, size or quality, for you have to sacrifice one for the other.. 8]
Don't have a clue why the wav filez seemed "jerky" on your system, I would give audiograbber a shot and see what happens I never had any problems with it.

Hope this helps

There are plenty of shareware/freeware programs that will allow you to put a cd in and "rip" the files to mp3..Can't think of any names right now...
