This is a completely free image site that I have recently found while searching for images for websites.

The url is http://sxc.hu.
The site has tons of pictures that you are free to use, just not to resell, use as a logo, or publish without the authors permission.

Their legal terms are found Here
And it states that

You may use the Image

* In digital format on websites, multimedia presentations, broadcast film and video, cell phones.
* In printed promotional materials, magazines, newspapers, books, brochures, flyers, CD/DVD covers, etc.
* Along with your corporate identity on business cards, letterhead, etc.
* To decorate your home, your office or any public place.

I remember finding this site years ago! I wish it was easier to navigate and the font wasn't so small...

During My searching of the web for an image mirror generator I came across another site with useful image, menu, css tools.

It has a place for making an image have a transparent mirror on the bottom so that the background color of the page doesn't matter.

There is also CSS tools for menu making, round corners, optimizing, and layout generators.

There are also many other tools.

Link is Here.

Yeah, sxc is by now the best free stock photo website. It's difficult to find properly licensed content for free!

Great links guys, I will look into both of them more. I'm always on the look out for images for blog entries.

On that first site, the font is pretty small, but just click ctl+(plus sign)to enlarge the font.

Thanks for sharing that link. A lot of those pictures are more artsy-looking than the traditional photos that you see on istockphoto. Which can be a good thing, because you want to be able the use the right picture at the right time...anyway, this will give me a lot more to work, thanks again!

I think this is good information for me about the free image collection. I really like all the images. I can use it in my development. It is very meaningful for me for my project work. And the navigation also very clear.

Stock.XCHNG is actually one of the top free stock photo sites today. I have put it in my browser’s bookmarks. To add to that, some of my personal favorites are: everystockphoto, Morguefile and deviantART.

Thanks for sharing!

There are also some good images to be found in the Flickr Creative Commons pool. People upload photos with a creative commons copyright, which allows them to be used for a lot of different projects.
