anti, I am not sure if this was a reason for the switch, but it sure did piss everyone off at the origional TWF,

Joseph Bannon actually copies JP's idea and make http://www.thewebmasterforums.com !

Anti,

We changed to BT for that exact reason. It was BT's fault. There is NO point for displaying the password of every user in the admin control panel. That is a big security problem and I felt it was for a very long time. Any user that wants can request his/her password to be sent to them via e-mail. So then, what is the point of displaying the passwords? Very true, he did get in through a weak password problem but he shouldn't have had more than one password. Unfortunatly he had access to the password of every TWF user. This was a big security problem as a lot of users don't know any better (like JP) and use the same password EVERYWHERE.

Anyway, we had just had enough of BT and its owner.

Just out of curiousity:

Why is it that http://www.thewebmasterforums.com says it has 1000+ members but has a total of about 10 posts?

Yes I know that is pretty funny.

Joseph (the owner) took the registered users from their support forum and moved them to it as well. I think it speaks for itself of just how busy it is.

So sorry for you Chad, it seems you missed the best part of it!
One of our members posted a link to his members-directory when the first discussion about thewebmasterforums.com came up and there were 5 members! So everyone can figure out what was going on.

So much for fun, next time I should make a screenshot

Actually Patrick, I didn't miss it. I was hear and read every bit of that thread. It was absolutely hilarious!

And shortly after that post was made, the whole thing was shut down and he magically lost posts (ones that were really hapring on him for being a clone of TWF) and when things were back up, the members directory was no longer viewable.

But yes, I was here and I read it all.
