Tony's reply sounds good to me, sorted most recent posts first, I'm wondering if you can limit the search to one string per list? rather then having each post in that string showing up on the search?
1) Discussion title
2) Discussion discription
3) Number of posts
4) Originator
5) Date/time the discussion was started
6) Date/time of the last post
