The new TWF content site: coming soon!
It is finally coming! After years of talking about it, and thinking about it, and putting it off we are finally getting close to launching a new content area for TWF! The content site will be sitting on a new domain with close ties ot the current site. It will mostly contain articles, tutorials, and editorials for beginner and intermediate webmasters (although we hope to have something for everyone!). We also have a cool new design and fun theme for the site that we hope you'll enjoy.
We are planning to "pre-launch" the new site roughly 2 weeks from now. The pre-launch will be a low-key release, basically to get feedback from our current members (that's you!) and start getting the search engines crawling the site. After we've had a chance to incorporate feedback and perfect the new site (hopefully about 1-2 months later) we will have an official launch, which will include a new design for the forums as well!
I hope you'll all share our excitement about the new site. We definitely want your feedback about everything we do here

I'm excited... we should have an opening party for this... maybe we should all have a YM or IM conference together with some heavy press release... If we band together on that opening day, we could create some interest and announce it on every other popular sites...

Opera had a big party for ... I can't remember if it was their 10th anniversary or a new release. But they had an IRC channel and some games set up and stuff. It could be cool. I remember we looked into IRC at one point but I forget what happened with that.

Yeah, our IRC channel just died out because no one was visiting and those who were in the channel just weren't talking.

Just a quick update:
We're working away on getting the site ready. Unfortunatley, drupal released a new version just as we were putting the finishing touches on the site. We've decided to re-work the templates and launch under version 5 rather than going with version 4. We do have lots of content ready to go!
