As mentioned in the Thinkhost free hosting announcement, we will be receiving development work requests through their site. We also hope to promote this group a little bit here at the forums, and make our services available to people who come to our forum directly.

You will need to apply to be a part of this group. If you wish to be considered for work requests, please send your portfolio URL or work samples and resume to me by PM or by email. We will also go over your posts here and anything else we can find to verify that you are a good quality, reliable professional. We are looking for professionals in all areas of web development from graphic design to programming and anything in between. You can find specific services Thinkhost advertises here:

http://www.thinkhost.com/options/custom-programming.shtml

Most of the jobs we recieve are small to mid-scale projects involving basic graphics work, script installation, small site designs etc.

If you are accepted into the developer's group you will be given access to a special, private Market Place forum where the jobs will be posted. More details about how this will work will be posted there. You will be expected to give Thinkhost and TWF a comission on all work you carry out through this group.

Please let me know if you have any questions about this.

Oh, no, not at all. I have been hosting with them for years but I have no other interest in the company (nor does anyone else who is involved with this forum). They decided on their own to contact me with this great opportunity.

Megan, is this proposition still actual? I am interested in it.

I can implement website functional requirements using the opensource joomla platform. IMO it’s very flexible for mid-scale projects.

Unfortunately I have no posts at forum to prove my skills and reliability.

Would really be grateful if you or anyone can answer my question.

It is for real but it's a bit on the back burner for now. We were getting some jobs through a hosting company we were partnered with but that didn't work out. However, we would really still like to do this through this site and through our content site, A Padded Cell.

We'll let you know when we start getting some work coming through again. We use drupal for most of our projects but it's certainly possible that we would get requests for joomla work. We are particularly interested in doing customizations of CMS-based sites.
