Would it be possible to remove some of the older discussions from the HTML & JavaScript forum. This forum is taking longer and longer to load each day. Sometimes my browser cannot load the entire page because it takes too long.

I noticed this as well at times, I was surfing in another window to pass the time this afternoon (at the time I was looking for an old thread though and set it to "show all").

If you can get the whole page to load once, you can use the option at the bottom to show topics from the last x days. I think you can cut it down pretty far and it should stay for as long as you stay in the forum. It resets when you leave though.

<John> You mentioned the option to show topics from the last x days at the bottom of the page. Is there any chance of moving this to the top of the forum pages? This way as the page is loading you could select your options then reload the page.

I can't do it as I'm not an admin, but we could ask JP or Patrick or Chad about it. They might consider it as it does take a good while to load the forum. Smiling

I'm not going to worry about it - I let the page load for about 10 seconds then press escape. Only the new message are shown anyway.

I'm still here as well... I would have taken care of the problem but I am not PERL literate Smiling ... So, I will leave it to the professionals!

Could you maybe have a user preference that specifies how many days posts you would like to have displayed? It would be great if you could change this for each separate forum. I think your doing a great job with this forum - it is always improving!
