Sendmail issues...

Hello

Well, here I go asking more question (I guess I'm on a roll here). Anyway, I am not able to get SendMail to work even though I have DNS/MX/SMTP, etc. I type "download sendmail for windows" into Google and come up with the "original" sendmail for Windows which is offered as a 30 day trial, a result for a sendmail page where the author claims that sendmail has been discontinued, a sendmail for Windows NT and one for Unix.

I'm confused here. I downloaded sendmail (the fee-based one) and installed it and cannot get it to work by itself or with my forms. When I click on the sendmail link in my START>RUN>SENDMAIL menu, it brings up some kind of email program and even when I type in all the information into this, it just tells me that it "can't create the folder".

I simply want to be able to use perl scripts that require sendmail. Is there a good substitute for sendmail and/or what I am supposed to be downloading here?. I have Windows XP.

Thank's folks:)

check out sendmail.org thats where the "real" sendmail is (if you are talking about a good free mailserver).

You are kind of limited with Windows. I have never heard of any using Sendmail for Windows. Sendmail itself is one of the harder programs to configure. I would advise with XP to get something like Mercury Mail.
