PHP On Mac
Loving my new G4 Powerbook
I want to put PHP locally for development etc
Is there a special package of PHP for OS X? I tried using the regular Unix package, but it couldn't find a valid cc/gcc compiler

Wow, that's cool. I'm still amazed that OS X is basically Unix with an enhanced GUI. I think I would enjoy OS X, but I have no intention of buying Mac hardware. *moan* They really need to port that.

OS X runs beautifully... no "fatal exceptions" no blue screens
:) 
With my PC laptop, I'd get 2-3 hrs of battery life, with this, I get around 5 or 6
My "learning curve" was quite a bit less because of my experience with Linux.
You even get a command line terminal window
I spent a day searching for a quality SSH program, only to find ones that ran in classic which wasted time and resources
I forgot the command line ssh 111.22.33.44 -l user command
Hooray!
Buy the hardware, it's worth it.
And I'm installing PHP and MySQL now (I temporarily used the Zend Development Engine while I searched)

I still think the hardware is overpriced. And it's only recently started using standard hardware (IDE, PCI, etc.). A good thing, IMO, because it makes it easier to upgrade.
And I just bought a 2.5GHz laptop about a month ago.
