Where are the cheapest sites to register a .com or .net domain name.

I have heard that there are sites offering registration for less than $70 for 2 years.

Does anyone know these sites?

**DISREGARD THIS POST** Smiling Thanks

Evening -

It is impossible for a host or domain registration service to offer a domain managed by Network Solutions for less than $70.00 for two years. That is the price Network Solutions charges.

However, you may have heard of places that charge for them registering your domain on top of what Network Solutions charges you. If that's the case, their are plenty of people who charge under $70.00.

Hope this answers your question. Cheers!

Network Solutions doesn't have full control of the domain system any more Chase Smiling

You can purchase domains for significantly cheaper than $70 (about half that) at a number of sites now. One being http://www.joker.com. I have never dealt with them nor heard anything about them... I just know they are one of the more popular ones...

Though I have not dealt with these companies either, I know of totalnic.net which charges $35 for TWO years (1/2 NSI price) and http://www.opensrs.com/ which charges $13 per year.

Good luck, and if you try one of these companies let me know how it goes.

Geez....I've heard something like this but never got anymore info on this.

I guess I need to keep my nose up higher so I can get this info when it becomes available. Smiling

I must say I do not trust any of those sites and there's no way I'm given my credit card details to them.

I think I will stick with Internic for now and pay $70.

Thanks for the replies.

I think I have to agree with you Michael2, think i would have to think pretty hard before giving any money to somebody with a name of joker;). Besides I like the convenience of being able to file a domain name and send them a company check. Makes it easier for my bookkeeping method.

You can't send Internic a check last I checked?

I do agree though, until these companies become real big, I'm not going to trust my major domains with them at all. Maybe I'll put up some ones I just want to 'hold' till later but nothing live and good.

I don't really trust them, but I might try them out of curiosity.

Hi,
Network solutions charged me $135 to park my domain name. http://www.hificables.com/. After that I only realised that some sites could park my domain for nothing. Piece of advice to all, never park your domain with network solutions Smiling

I've also heard that many of these companies take for ever and some hosts have a real problem working with them.

For now Network Solutions is still the best for fast - working domain names.

Hopefully in the next few months the Shared Registration System will work better.

I'll stick to register.com and networksolutions.com because I'm just old fashioned Smiling

I registered 14 domains with joker.com and I am very happy with their service. I know they look unporofessional because of the crappy design, but trust me they are much better than networksolutions.com First of all you can make all the changes regarding the nameserver your self in a matter of minutes.
