Ok, Maybe I am being too willie nilly..haha..
I have a folder on my desktop with all files in it. in that I have a folder for images. If you open index.html in text editor you will see the div class of "gallery" under the H1 tag "welcome to my portfolio". I have 2 rows of 3 images, they are all the same image and same size. (or use one of the other images provided) I want these images to be clickable, but when I put in the . All the images collapse into one another.

I want to keep the look of the page just the way it is with colors and background, just want to make the images clickable...

P.S. I am not a student, I just want to learn web development and been taking it upon myself to learn. I find tutorials on the net and download them for free..lol

Thank You for all your help.
Charlie
Thank You for all your help

Is that the right HTML file

Is that the right HTML file for them though? I don't see any img tags in there.

Where were you planning to put this when you're done? You don't have web space anywhere yet?

It's funny, in the old days (10+ years ago), any internet service account came with a bit of web space. Free hosting providers were everywhere. Students at colleges and universities would have some web space there. It's too that bad web space isn't as easy to access as it was then.

Sorry for my ignorance, I did leave out the images...where would I be able to make a live site without a domain?
I will add the images here, they all the same dimensions for the gallery and the abstract image is for the background.. Also, any url can be used for the clickable link...

I think you may have uploaded

I think you may have uploaded the wrong page. I don't see any images in this one.

It would be helpful if you could put the files up on the web somewhere so we can see a live version of the page. That will make it easier to troubleshoot and you'll be able to get an answer faster.
