I saw VB and started researching it when I then came across your article which was very interesting (thank you) have things moved on since then?

vBulletin have fixed their tables for layout problems, it's still not particularly modular and Drupal 7's admin interface now blows vBulletin's out of the water IMO. Setting up a Drupal forum is still a bit of work and doesn't come with as many features as vBulletin, you should use it if: 1) you don't need all the features of vBulletin (not all that many sites do), and 2) you want to run your whole site on a single platform.

The ability to run your whole site on just Drupal is its biggest advantage. Just one piece of software to update and manage and no license fees.

We are running this site on Drupal. The forums are a bit of a challenge to set up at first, but it gives us the opportunity to really customize things the way we want them. We can arrange the design differently, offer the features our users need most etc. We can also integrate the design with our content site (A Padded Cell).

We have lots of knowledge about Drupal here, so if you decide to give it a try you can always post here for help.
