We've been using them for around three years. We're renting an Intel i7 with 12 GB of RAM. It's very do-it-yourself though, we have root access and I basically installed everything from scratch.</p> <p>Drupal is fast, but if you have installed a lot of modules you'll need <a href="http://php.net/manual/en/book.apc.php">APC</a> at a minimum. <a href="http://drupal.org/project/memcache">Memcache</a> is also a good way to get a speed increase.
