    <description> &lt;p&gt;Renegade is right, OpenID is gaining quite a bit of popularity. I think most sites create their own login systems, but then allow people to login using Facebook/OpenID/whatever.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;IMO you should build your own, but build it so it can be extended using third-party login services.&lt;/p&gt;
