&lt;p&gt;I have experienced this on my IBM laptop, which runs at 120 DPI. Internet Explorer and Opera compensate for the smaller pixels by increasing text size by 25%. Webkit and Mozilla based browsers are pixel based - 1em at &quot;medium&quot; text size is 16px, for example, while in IE it is 20px.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This may or may not be your issue.&lt;/p&gt;
