Now javascript can also get you the browser info, but I prefer to use server side for that in case they don't have javascript turned off.</p> <p>If you are wanting to get it for statistical info, try using a counter that provides this. One I prefer is 123stat.com. You can get a free trial account, and they will give you a sniplet of javascript to put on your pages.
