Have you tried un installing then re installing the correct drivers for the mouse, also check the port, had a problem a short wile ago, where the mouse was doing erratic things when you left or right click and it turned out to be a problem with the pc mouse port.

Even i think its a virus problem n not any hardware problem,so just scan ur computer with a good n effective anti virus software n if possible format it once.I think this will solve ur problem.

I think the problem may

I think the problem may arise by two basic way ----

1. Hardware problem.
2. virus problem.

If the problem is arise from hardware problem means there was key board problem.

some time virous is the main cause of the problems.

I don't use Windows so can't

I don't use Windows so can't troubleshoot too much for you, but here's an MS article that might help..
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321186

It does require registry editing, which can cause serious problems if you do something wrong. That said, if you follow the instructions carefully there should be no issues, and hopefully will resolve the issue.

On a side note, Windows Restore, while can be VERY useful, it can also cause problems. It backups up various system things, and if the restore point you restore to doesn't have some software updates, settings or even has a virus, it can fix the initial problem that made you restore, but can bring about other issues as well.

Generally, it can be helpful, but uses up disk space and can cause additional problems.
It is better to learn to understand your PC and software and updates you install, than rely on restoring to a previous "known working" point.
