Moving websites isn't hard. You may want to consider hiring someone to help you out if you don't think you can do it w/o a ton of downtime.

Yeah, I've been meaning to change hosts for a while cause I'm with jumpserver and their support staff disappeared from the face of the planet a while back. Don't give phone numbers and don't answer emails. ERgh, changing will not be fun but appears to be the only option...

Welcome to TWF Martha!

Sounds to me like your server admins are restoring backups for some reason that do not have your current data. I cannot imagine how else this would happen unless you have installed some kind of backup and restore app that is malfunctioning.

I have had many aggravating experiences with databases on shared hosting accounts.

At BlueHost they changed the password on on one of my dbs and refused to give me the new one (I had already decided to leave them for other reasons).

My client's web site at Webhostingpad dropped all connection with his database. They "fixed" it by placing static content where the dynamic db content should be. We could install the app and database, and the db was viewable in phpmyadmin, but the site could not find it. Probably a bad connection URL but he eventually had to move to another host.

You should have a frank talk with your support team and try to find out what is going on. If they start trying to blame you, it's time to move - ugh - but there are some good hosting companies out there!

First, I would check with your host and see if they are restoring backups for whatever reason.

Are you doing anything with MySQL transactions or anything?
