My grandma has one of those lawnmowers, she uses it to get to places the riding mower can't get to. Also with our soon to be fossil fuel crisis it might be wise to have one laying around!

The helmet thing looks interesting although I will assume that the api is for windows only. The headset costs $300, which I guess isn't too bad for a new technology. If they want to get it working sooner they should consider Linux if they haven't already. It would be fun to play around with it though.

My dad still has one. Why he won't get rid of it is beyond me.

I don't anticipate something like this becoming mainstream anytime soon. All software out there is built for the input devices we have now, and it would be something that would have to be phased in very slowly.

I once was before a judge (never mind the circumstances ) who revealed that when he was a child, he had to walk down the hill past rattlesnakes to change his electrical fuse - it had nothing to do with the case, of course...

I asked Emotiv for a loaner helmet - they have a "free" api that emulates the helmet, but I think they want developers to invest in the "real" version.
