Grant,

That won't work because you cannot type search terms into an image

You have to create the search box with html and theme it to look like your design.

Oh i dont think iv made myself clear lol it seems that you think i want to make 1 like that .. i want to turn my actual jpeg design into a working search box ? if that makes it any clearer .. youv been very helpful though however

your design looks like a pretty standard search box, you just need some css to theme the button and the text input

as I said, that depends on the actual html code you use to implement the search box

Hi Grant,

We're jumping the gun...

First you need to create the search box.

That depends on what type of search you use. Many CMS (Drupal, WordPress etc) have built-in search. Another option would be to add Google Custom Search

Once you have added the search front-end, then you can theme it.

I previously pointed to some sites where I themed the Drupal search.

I forgot to mention that it always helps to post some code here (remember to enclose it in code tags - you can use the 3rd toolbar icon from the right) or a link if the site is live

otherwise we will not know the exact code that constructs your search box, and it can vary greatly

The thing is im not really that good at this and i doubt doing this would help thanks for your contribution however i was wondering if i can just get help doing this than finding out. Can i slice the input box as an html slice and put some code in ? And the same for the button?
