Nice new app, and looks interesting. Would take a bit of time to get use to but I reckon it's something we can look forward to - maybe a nice addon to fantastico.

Nice to see you are actively working on it. It should hopefully be decent and relatively bug free software when you roll out an official stable release.

Although, if you're renaming each time you make a set of updates, rather than roll out an updated version when you have fixed a lot more bugs, then you might want to consider using decimals:
ALPHA 3.1
ALPHA 3.2
etc

Then when you fix a massive load of stuff move onto the next one ALPHA 4
Otherwise you might end up with ALPHA 30+

Hey, just posting back to

Hey, just posting back to say we've integrated some new features, fixed some bugs, and released alpha 3. Here's a brief list of changes.

- Fixed some RSS bugs, couple of Opera/IE6/IE7 rendering issues, some issues with the installer, plugin system bugs, and a couple of other minor things.
- Updated the emoticon set, added a version update notifier, made some changes to "currently online", added a user preference to control avatar positioning (left, right, or alternating), made the AJAX auto-refresh thing more efficient, and some other small stuff.

Thanks for the feedback and testing so far! It's been a great help.

A complete list of changes is available here, and alpha 3 is available here.

I will take a look later on during the day and see what i can get working with.

Even on a local host machine. LOL

Thanks for the feedback!

To remove tags from the search you can just click on the tag again and it will disappear. Unfortunately I can't think of any quick way to do this when the search bar appears at the top of the conversation view, since there are no clickable tags or gambits on the screen.

We are definitely very conscious about feature bloat! We use a plugin system to keep the core functionality lightweight and fast. Plugin-way-of-thinking-high-five!

Thanks for the suggestion re: adding more detailed info to the installation script, we'll definitely do this.

There's a new release almost ready which integrates a lot of the feedback we've had so far. I'll post again here once it's done, and thanks again!

This is some good software.

I tried to install it on my server, however it apears to use the .htaccess to clean up the urls, which I can't seem to get working for some reason... (don't worry it isn't a program error, it's my apache)

It looks good

This looks really good! Reminds me of ravelry.

One of the things you should keep in mind over the long term is avoiding feature bloat. A pluggable system would be a good way to allow some users to have extra features without making the whole system bloated and complicated.

On that search bar, it would be nice to be able to quickly remove terms somehow. Maybe I didn't find very many results so I want to make the query less specific.

Lots of great ideas in here, I'm dying to steal them

So you don't want the links removing then

It looks interesting! Especially the tags at the top - like blog meets forum.

From reading the posts in the forum, it seems you have some bug fixing to do. So if I get chance I might try to install it somewhere. Although Joeb454 issue looks to be on his end rather than your software.
Make sure you have good info with issues like that.
So don't just state "MYSQL 4.1 or greater is not installed"...perhaps give a list of most common reasons...

You don't have MYSQL installed

You have a version older than 4.1

Make sure the line in php.ini is uncommented...etc

Maybe you do already, but advice on issues and as much help and support in installation of the software/modules/skins etc is always welcomed, especially with new, uncommon software.

Welcome to TWF btw!
