Thinkhost is one I'm familiar with. I used them for years before I moved my site to our dedicated server (now a VPS). They've been in business since the 90's I think.

I heard something recently about how virtual servers are better for the environment because you need less hardware (and therefore less power) than dedicated servers. Makes sense
