Well, I've been learning the basics of seo for that past 5 or so months, not full time, but still, a good amount of reading. And I have to say, the more that I learn, but more I realize what I still need to learn.

I'm starting out with a Wordpress site, so most of the html coding, actually all of it, is done for me, since I am using a theme that is pretty dynamic.

Has anyone here started out with these such accounts, that involve minimal coding? I'm thinking to start out here and then later on try and code from scratch because right now I only have enough time to learn so much.

I'm starting to understand what you mean with this statement. I started a Wordpress blog, and there are so many plugins that I need to learn about. There are so many options of what you can add and what you can avoid. And especially with social media sites there is a lot to choose from and keep up with if you want to be successful and stay current with trends.

Depends on what you want to do. The definition of a webmaster is very open and covers many areas, so advising you depends on what you want to be doing.

For getting started and learning the basics use tizag.com. It is well written and flows like a good tutorial from one area to the next.

If you just want basic sites, you need HTML and CSS. Nothing else.
For more advanced control such as managing user inputs, such as member login and manipulating form data, you will need a server side, such as ASP, PHP.
For a beginner I would always advise using PHP, as the amount of support is greater than for ASP.

Learn HTML, then learn CSS. When you can make web pages neatly and align various things correctly arond a page, using divs, floats etc, then move onto the next thing such as Javascript or PHP and MYSQL.
