    <description> &lt;p&gt;well, I did what I usually do, I made the patch by hand...&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I think I entered the commands properly, I was following the documentation, I understand that -p0 is a (sometimes unnecessary) switch.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Next time I need to apply a patch, I&#039;ll try again. I have a sneaking feeling it has something to do with Vista...&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;What happens if you enter &lt;code&gt;patch.exe &amp;lt; filename.patch&lt;/code&gt; ? There&#039;s also a problem with what you&#039;re entering above, it should be: &lt;code&gt;patch -p0 &amp;lt; filename.patch&lt;/code&gt; it may be looking for a file named &lt;code&gt;p0&lt;/code&gt; which would cause it to fail.&lt;/p&gt;
