Greg: Thanks for deleting

Greg: Thanks for deleting the company name and name of the individual. That was absolutely the right thing to do.

Durangoguy: while we appreciate that you've been having a rough time of it, we really have not got the money to go through a defamation/and-or libel lawsuit. I'm no lawyer (so please don't misconstrue anything in this post as legal advice), but naming and shaming people or businesses when there are legal accusations flying around puts this forum at grave risk of being sued.

I'm sure you understand why Greg had to remove the individual and business names from your post. Anyway, I am sure this issue is better off in the hands of your lawyer than a group of Webmasters.

Welcome to the forums and good luck in resolving your grievance.

Ok, new day and I'm more

Ok, new day and I'm more awake.

First off, I have modified the post to remove the names of those involved at this point as this same message has been posted on at least 8 forums, and on every one of those, there is not information as to who posted the message.

IMO, if you are not willing to identify yourself, then you shouldn't identify who you are complaining about.

Second, in another forum you state you have a lawyer who says he has enough to go after the company. I am curious to his reaction when you let him know you spammed many forums with this type of post.

I'm not discrediting anything that may have happened to you, just keeping it real on the posting of the information. I welcome more information on the issue.

-Greg

Did you get a signed

Did you get a signed contract detailing the services and costs? If you have, did you read all the fine print?

There are banks that will take funds from other accounts you have your name on to cover another that is negative. People complain because they didn't read the fine print in the contract that gives the banks permission to do so.

What is the site that they are holding? Do they also manage the domain name? (A very good example of having hosting and your domain names through 2 different companies, so even if this happens you can at least get the domain name to point over to a new host.)

Did you have any backups of your site before they made any changes if they have so far?

In the letter demanding $3,200, did they list what that charge was for?

Lastly, how do you know he has screwed over other customers?

Just be sure to track and record all details of all of your contact with the company from day 1, and if needed hire a good lawyer, remembering you get what you pay for in a lawyer too.

-Greg
