Hi honkabonka,

In every business there are ethical people and crooks. Probably more so in internet related business because of the frontier mentality.

Any business plans for some losses due to unavoidable circumstances.

Good contracts are a foundation of civil business relations. Have a look here for some suggestions.

I've been ripped off a few times myself.

You sound very stressed out - and thanks for the warning about Mr. Winters - but realize that you can move on and gain wonderful clients - and Mr. Winters has to live with the knowledge that he is a scumbag.
