On the domainnews.com/forum I have heard that godaddy refused the .ME registration and only Eurodns.com doing registrations there. So I believe that you need to stop worrying about goddady

I checked Godaddy.com, it seems they have .me among extensions they register, though according to the http://www.webhostingchat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=52770&postcount=4 Godaddy has experienced problems with .me registration.
