    <description> &lt;p&gt;An alternative option would be to generate pictures for every combination available and then swap out the entire image when an option is changed.  That may or may not be a feasible solution depending on how may options you have.&lt;/p&gt;

    <description> &lt;p&gt;That sounds to me, just by reading your brief, like a great little Flash applet that could be created.  I think it could definitely be done with plain HTML and some JavaScript, but it would take a lot of positioning and probably use of z-indexes to work through the overlaying of certain images.&lt;/p&gt;
