I don't really like to do that because first of all you could be insulting someone by assuming they don't know anything. I couldn't really tell how much HTML Maxal knows.

Secondly, it takes a lot of time to be specific.

Thirdly, it also means that the person doesn't need to think for themselves. They don't need to figure anything out so they don't actually learn anything.

I think we understand that you are referring to actually cutting and pasting the code for <ul class="tabs"> list from the header div to the content div

but maybe someone who is not confident with the relationship of html and css would not understand that

when I was training assistants in sound editing for film, I had to carefully explain things that I thought were obvious - we lose perspective after a while

What do you mean you're not sure if you could do it? I'll try to be more clear:

Take the <ul class="tabs"> list and move it down under <div id="content">
In your CSS, change all #header ul.tabs to #content ul.tabs
Change the margin-top on #content to whatever value works to clear the background image.

First move the ul.tabs down

First move the ul.tabs down into the #content div, at the very top. Change the CSS accordingly so the ul.tabs are in #content not #header. Then increase the top margin on #content.

I'm going to remove the CSS you just posted since the .css file is already linked and we can easily access it in the browser.

OK guys, here is the site. I want the posting area (Tabs+Post) to have top margin of 200px whereas sidebar on the right will stay put. The basis purpose is to let the background art show up which is currently behind the posting area.

Well, the images appear stable in Opera 9.02

(I had to uninstall v 9.5 because it crashes on Yahoo Mail Beta - even with the 9.52 release that supposedly fixed that)

I'd like to see the HTML code too. It would really be more helpful if you could upload this to a working server. Then we can use Firebug to quickly diagnose the problem rather than guessing.

I think what you need to do is move the list with the tabs down to place it above the post box rather than being inside the header div. That might get you somewhere. The clear: both on the tabs list will cause you problems too.
