at 24k (don't ask) it took less than a minute to get the text/style up and another minute for the images to load. So I'd say it's quite fast.

I am running off a phone modem which is running at 115.2Kbps and it took just over 9 seconds to load which loaded all the images on the first page and once loaded it took even less to navigate the site...

Judging by this message I'd say you're right Megan. I sent a quick message to the author of that plugin:

Just tried out the bandwidth throttling plugin for Firefox ( http://www.uselessapplications.com/en/Application/FirefoxThrottle.aspx ). Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be working in Linux.

Am just dropping you a line to let you know that there is interest among users of platforms other than Microsoft's.

I'll leave the decision of whether porting is worth it to your discretion.
