Thanks again for the comments. I would'nt use cirtex hosting as I was on a forum once and no one was happy with them.

I'll look at the other options though to see what I can find. I'll also continue to search Google for more info on Gateway Timeputs errors and proxy's....

Well I'm glad you got somewhere, it's still working quickly for me by the way. Was doing a little reading-up on that error, it's usually caused by a proxy not being able to contact the Web server.

If you (or anyone else) knows of any other hosts that can support FFmpeg and who are reasonably priced then please let me know about it.

Someone in this thread mentioned FFMPEG hosting. From http://cirtexhosting.com/ and http://hostv.com/ or you could just get a VPS and do it yourself (if you're a confident *nix admin). We're switching to a VPS from http://vpsville.ca soon, if that helps.

Good luck with it.

Thank you JeevesBond for

Thank you JeevesBond for responding to my post. It's also good to hear that you are in toronto and the site is nice and fast for you. Thanks for that feedback.

You suggested that I threaten my current hosts with the possiblity that I may take my business elsewhere. I actually just did that in a long email. Apparently it made them "sit up and listen" because Management now wants to speak with me on the phone. One gentleman said he has investigated my claims but can find nothing to support them. I am still holding firm to my original statement... "This issue did NOT exist prior to the migration of my website".

I have also been snooping around for another host that supports FFmpeg so that my site will work. The problem is they are all quite expensive. My current host is very reasonably priced and the site worked extremely well before.

If you (or anyone else) knows of any other hosts that can support FFmpeg and who are reasonably priced then please let me know about it. I'm convinced that my hosts won't be doing anything further on this issue to investigate my problems.

Thanks again for your feedback. I'll include the full URL in case anyone else, from anywhere else in the world wants to test the speed for me and then post comments concerning about it in this thread. http://www.beseenandbeheard.com/

It's ok to post the URL

It's ok to post the URL completely, you'd have to be a really determined spammer to make up a story like that!

Firstly, the site is working great. It's nice and fast for me, am near Toronto on a stinkin' Rogers connection. I've tried it both today and yesterday, am not saying that there is no problem however.

This is definitely a network issue, it probably is due to whatever your hosts did, the difficult thing is going to be proving it to them. Maybe you could threaten to take your business elsewhere? If you're stuck in a contract, they may be in breach of it by not providing the service you've paid for.

Secondly, if it's not them, ask them what it could be! Maybe they can provide some pointers, to be honest it does seem like it was due to that migration, because that's when your problems started.

I think the first thing to do is take a tougher line with your hosts. If they won't fix the problem, find another host.
