    <description> &lt;p&gt;Your problem is due to your use of absolute positioning. The positioned boxes act a lot like Photoshop &quot;layers&quot; -- the rest of the page knows nothing of their presence, so boxes just pile up on top of each other. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I suggest you abandon absolute positioning for layout. Far too many problems with differing browser implementations down that road.&lt;/p&gt;
