    <description> &lt;p&gt;create a selection around the type, cntrl-click on text type or use selection tool.  Inverse the selection so that the outline will be outside of the text.  Add a &#039;stroke&#039; layer style.  You can select the size colour and smoothness from the layer style menu.  Drop the opicity of the text to 0 and your left with the outline and a transparent center to ad images behind.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;There are a few different ways, this is the way I do it.  Hope this helps.&lt;/p&gt;
