    <description> &lt;p&gt;Oops, I forgot to link to it.  &lt;a href=&quot;http://mu.wordpress.org/&quot; class=&quot;bb-url&quot;&gt;Wordpress MU (multi-user)&lt;/a&gt; is a version of Wordpress that allows a webmaster to control several blogs with one code base.  This code is actually what powers wordpress.com.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Practical applications would be a company that wants a blog for every department.  They can have their own subdomain, theme, plugins, etc. all controlled by the webmaster.&lt;/p&gt;

    <description> &lt;p&gt;That&#039;s really annoying that they just insist that you do that. It is nice to have that feature there (would solve a lot of canonical URL problems), but they shouldn&#039;t be forcing it on you!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;What is Wordpress MU anyway? I should just look it up...&lt;/p&gt;
