Thanks for all your feedback. It seems like we can depend on a significant proportion of Windows users having those extra fonts installed.

At school here they all have 570 fonts. And they have all the ones you listed. Computers have CS3 and MS Office.

Here's mine. I'm running WinXP Media Center Edition SP2 2002 version.
The only font I've ever added is Starstruck, so the rest came with my computer.

Here on Win XP Pro SP2 I have no M$ Office stuff, but some Macromedia (MX suite).

None of those fonts you listed here. The only Lucida fonts I have are Lucida Console, Lucida Sans Regular, and Lucida Sans Unicode (all True Type).

Yes, it will be posted at A Padded Cell. I won't go into detail right now but it's a pretty exhaustive list of commonly available fonts on different operating systems.

I'd LOVE to have a list because I know that the list of core fonts have grown, and it would be nice to be able to have more of a variety for web use. But I have not been able to find an updated listing.
