&lt;p&gt;Yes, it is unique! I will try installing the latest version of Thunderbird. The reason I reverted to an older version is because I knew it worked.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I tried something else since my last post. I set T-bird as the default email client, then, using IE6,  tried clicking on an email address at a web site. The PC froze up again, so I learned that IE and T-bird don&#039;t really talk to each other.&lt;/p&gt;
