If you do decide to embed a Flash movie in your web page(s), I recommend SWFObject.

Sorry I didn't see this thread earlier. Yes, Flash does work on GNU+Linux, right up to the latest version. It's nasty proprietary software though, so bundling it in a GNU+Linux distribution would be illegal. In Ubuntu you can install it from the Synaptic Package Manager, just type: 'flash' in the search box. if it doesn't appear you may need to enable the multiverse repository (should be under edit repositories or something similar).

Possibly, I don't use ubuntu, I tried it once, but I still preferred windows, since I have grown up with it. But also the player itself wasnt created with the newer verison, it was made with 6.

You just might not want to use a flash player that is 3 versions behind the newest one. So I suggest finding a new one.

I'm using Ubuntu 7.04 and have tried it on 2 computers with it on
I'll look in to that tho see if i can manually download the latest flash and maybe that will fix it

Does your Linux support Flash 6? Because that is what the one you are using is made in, you might need to download a new one, because those ones are a little old.

i see what your getting at. i would make a custom one but i don't really know where to begin.

somethings up with the one I'm using at the moment. it does not work in Linux any ideas as to why?

it worked really well but it was too large and becuse of the coading it was very hard to place on a page where i needed it.
