Interesting.

What do you do for visitors without Flash enabled? Or an old version that does not work with your Flash?

Just curious.

Thanks to all. I decided for third solution.

Just another helpful link:

http://www.amarasoftware.com/flash-problem.htm

Though you notice most designers ignore this problem...how sad...

You are not alone, as you will see if you google for your subject line. Long story short, Microsoft was required to do this to settle a lawsuit.

There are plenty of ways around it with JavaScript, as google results show. My favorite that I use on my site is called SWFObject. Get it from deconcept .

Um... yes? It is possible?

I'm under the impression that your are just "dragging and dropping" a flash file into dreamweaver? When you upload the html file, are you also uploading the appropriate .swf file, and in the proper location?

Another question is, do you need a rendering engine? For example, flash video files (.flv) need a flash video PLAYER embedded for them to work. I'm not familiar with .swf files, but I'm assuming this is potentially also true?

What does the code look like? Do you see tags? If so, what attributes? You can do many things with the attributes of embedded objects....
