I think your best bet would be to talk to an accountant in either country. My husband is currently in the process of immigrating from the UK to Canada. He is allowed to operate his business while he is here but he can't work for Canadian companies. Also, he has to pay taxes in both countries (still has to find an accountant to help him file a return here )

However, if you are on a student visa the rules may be different. I know that international students here had a hard time getting permission to work for private businesses. This is different from running your own business - most countries shouldn't have a problem with someone bringing business revenue to their economy, as long as you pay the correct tax.

You could also try the international students office at the school you're applying to.
