Do you not have any web space yet? You could just save it as a test file and upload it somewhere - anywhere is fine, as long as we can see a link.

But you're right - it's probably best to get the basics down before attempting anything this complex. You should really know how to write CSS by hand and have a better understanding of how it works.

Point taken Megan. I've never uploaded to a test server, so can't give you anything to see.

I think I'm missing something basic with CSS, so I plan to do a few simple tutorials rather than struggle with this advanced design.

Is the CSS in a seperate file? If so, it may be that you just aren't uploading the CSS file to the test server.

When you attempt to preview a file, Dreamweaver will upload it to your test server, assuming you have one set. It will also pop open a dialogue asking you if you want to upload related files. Just make sure you click yes, and the CSS file will also be uploaded.

If, for some reason, that dialogue does not appear, it may be that you checked the box on it that said not to show the dialogue again. In that case, you'll just need to manually upload the CSS file to the test server yourself.
