    <description> &lt;p&gt;What card have you got?  Most are compatible.  In fact, I think there are probably more ethernet network card drivers available in Linux than there are for Windows.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If you must get a new one, I know that Realtek 8139 chipsets work by default in the distros you mentioned.&lt;/p&gt;
