makes sense. I would just change it - but tell them what a logo redesign is worth and you did it for them just this one time! You don't want them to change their expectations...

Well it doesn't matter to charge them per hour since I do the job pretty fast... not unless It gets to 30 vector elements or 10 layers that I slow down to contemplate charging them. Lol!

They allowed me to change the colours, but they don't have the original raw or high-res image. I'm at dire straits whether I should charge them for making their old logo in better colors and making it vector. I think I'm going to give them this one as a value added service... hehe

Hard question...

I would either try to change the design...or tell them gently. But that's the question...right?

1. If they had the logo forever - maybe you can say that it is time that it gets updated - sometimes that is the push that they need.
2. Find out if they are having any issues with the logo being used in print. Do they like they way it looks? Is it too hard to see it smaller? etc. The persuasion will be easier if they have other issues.
3. I do not know what you charge for logos but maybe you could offer them a discounted price because they are doing the web design with you.

Like I said, hard question. I hope these help.
